BASOTHO ENDORSE EQUALITY FOR WOMEN, INCLUDING THE RIGHT OF A PRINCESS TO SUCCEED AS CHIEF

The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal No. 5 calls for gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls, a cross-cutting principle underpinning inclusive development (United Nations, 2015). In Lesotho, the government has made efforts to promote gender parity in politics by introducing electoral gender quotas (Nyane & Rakolobe, 2021).
