CAMEROON RIGHTS GROUPS DEMAND PROTECTION OF DISPLACED WOMEN AND CHILDREN FROM RIGHTS ABUSES

YAOUNDE, CAMEROON — Ahead of World Human Rights Day 2022, Cameroonian rights groups protested against what they called the dehumanizing treatment of women and children displaced by the separatist crisis in two western provinces. The groups say displaced women and girls are forced into physical and sexual abuse and domestic work without pay. They say civilians should denounce human rights abusers and that anyone fearing reprisal should discreetly tell female associations.
