CELEBRATING PAN AFRICAN WOMEN'S ORGANIZATION’S 59th ANNIVERSARY

Fifty-nine years ago, women from 14 independent countries and eight liberation movements converged in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. The liberation movements were from Mozambique, Angola, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, South Afrika, Guinea-Bissau, and Cape Verde. Pan African Women’s Organization (PAWO) was born when Africa was challenged by foreign domination and women decided to take the bull by the horns and work side by side with men.
