ELIZABETH MARUMA MREMA

Elizabeth Maruma Mrema has been recognised for her dedication to conservation awareness. She is among the only two African women on TIME magazine’s list of the top 100 most influential people globally this year (2023). The TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list features a blend of celebrated leaders, activists, artists, scientists and moguls. Entrants, according to the highly rated American magazine, are recognised for changing the world regardless of the consequences of their actions. In December, Elizabeth Maruma Mrema led the world’s countries to one of the decade’s biggest environmental wins—an agreement to conserve or restore nature on 30% of the world’s lands and waters by 2030.
