SIERRA LEONE: JOURNALISTS’ UNION LAUNCHES NEW GENDER POLICY

The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists’ (SLAJ) has launched its new gender equality guidelines. The policy aims to make an impactful change towards the integration of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the work environment. The “Media Gender-Equality Policy” insists on the development of gender balance in work environments and condemns all cases of harassment in newsrooms, online and by third parties. It also promotes the implementation of a monitoring program to guarantee that all rights in the workplace are respected.
