STRATEGIC PLAN ON GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE TO BE FINALISED SOON, SAYS PM

Mauritius: A strategic plan on gender-based violence (GBV) to be presented on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women observed on 25 November, follows the holding of the second High-level Committee on the elimination of GBV. The High-level Committee, chaired by Prime Minister, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, has a mandate to the eliminate GBV through a legislative framework and its enforcement, policies, procedures and awareness/sensitisation campaign and to identify problem areas and formulate a new strategy to eliminate gender-based violence.
