TANZANIA: 'SAFE ONLINE SPACES CRUCIAL TO CLOSE DIGITAL GENDER GAP'

To close the digital gender gap in Tanzania, Launchpad Tanzania has advocated for gender-responsive policies and laws that promote women's digital inclusion and safe online spaces. Managing Director and Co-Founder of Launchpad Tanzania, Ms Carol Ndosi made the plea during a virtual symposium on the state of women's digital inclusion and safe online spaces in East Africa, stressing that it was one approach to help women thrive on digital platforms. "To ensure digital inclusion, it is critical to develop clear accountability systems," she said, adding key aspects, such as promoting digital inclusion and safe online spaces have been overlooked.
