THE EASTERN AFRICAN SUB-REGIONAL SUPPORT INITIATIVE FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN (EASSI)

The Eastern African Sub-Regional Support Initiative for the Advancement of Women (EASSI) is a sub-regional, non-profit organisation that strengthens the capacity of women and civil society organisations in governance, leadership, economic empowerment, policy advocacy initiatives and peace and security. EASSI recognises the worth of all persons and the value of diversity and non-discrimination. EASSI was formed in 1996 following the Eastern African Post Beijing Forum held in Kampala, Uganda.
